User Comment:

Name does not come up in the Lodz Ghetto Inhabitants Database. Then searching other names, we found a Pinkas Abramowicz who has the correct birthdate in the range of going to school in the school #13B. Once we found Pinkas, we found what we believe to be two different entries of the name in the database. We believe that Pinkus (Pinie) was born on January 11th, 1928.  On September 28th, 1942 there was a change in registration address for Pinkas. Among the two different entries, they both had the same birth year and the same Ghetto Address living in Bleicher.

Expert Reviewer Comment:
I feel as if the people you found on the database are indeed the same people. Go ahead and enter all the ghetto addresses listed as well. Nice work.

I agree that this is the person who signed the album! In 1941, he would have been 13 years old, the right age to attend school #13b. We've often seen Pinie as a nickname for Pinkus and Pinkas. A few notes:
-There's an alternate name listed for him, Pinkas Grabowska. Please enter this in another "given name" field on this stage.
-Please also enter Pinkas' other address, Bleicherweg 8.
-Pinkus Abramowicz (not Pinkas, who is listed as born in 1928) is listed in the database without a DOB--but his address on Bleicherweg matches one of Pinkas' addresses. What do you think? Are they the same person? If you think so, go ahead and add Pinkus Abramowicz as another spelling of the name in the "name" field, and any other information about this no-DOB Pinkus, explaining your process and whose data is whose in the comment field.

Thanks!

User Comment:

Chaim Kazriel Abramowicz shared the exact same ghetto addresses and would have been in the right age range to be Pinkas Abramowicz father.

Rojza Abramowicz is in the right age range and shared the exact same ghetto address as Pinkas Abramowicz. She is slightly older than Chaim, but given the limited number of people sharing the exact same ghetto address, I believe that a strong case can be made for this being his mother.

Also, a Laja Abramowicz was found (D.O.B. March 23,1932). This would have made her four years Pinkas’ junior. The age range, and the exact same ghetto addresses leads me to my belief that she was a younger sister.

Laja and Pinkas were transferred somewhere as indicated by the ghetto note in the HLDA database A.G.28.9.42. this occourred on the exact same day for both of them. The mass deportation of the children and the elderly that occourred in September was from the 5th through the 12th. Also, Pinkas would have been outside of the age range, so it is unlikely they went in that train car to Chelmno.

I agree! Thank you for your speculations on the date; we haven't found record of a transport that day, so there's a chance that the date represents a move within the ghetto, registration for work, etc.
