Gymnasium and high school for girls
Gymnasium and high school students were typically between 14 and 20 years old. A gymnasium student in September 1941 was likely born between 1921 and 1927.
The gymnasium and high school for girls was located on Otylii. The street name was changed to Ottilienstrasse when German occupation began in 1939. See
www.lodz-ghetto.com for a map of Otylii and the rest of the Lodz ghetto.

User Comment:
I did a search a search for Regina Aronowicz and came up with nothing. Some students did research on her and they believe she was Irena Aranowicz born 28 May 1925 and lived at Zimmer 6 27 and Zimmer 23 2. She also appears as Irena Aronowicz.

I am really hesitant to confirm this research, since the distance between Irena and Regina seems pretty significant, and there are other possibilities for Aronowiczes who could have attended gymnasium and signed the album. Let's go ahead, mark this possible, and see what we find in the next stages. Thanks for adding in the research other students had done.

User Comment:
The family of Irena Aranowicz/Aronowicz was Estera Aronowicz born 13/12/1898 (mother) Zindel Zygmund Aronowicz born 05/05/1882 9father) and Zofja/Zofia Aronowicz/Aranowicz (Sister) born 18/12/1921. They all lived together at Zimmer 23 Flat 2. There was also Lajb Aronowicz born 05/08/1876 living at the same address.

Nice work. My only addition is that Zofja is also listed at Zimmerstrasse 6 #27--a possible clue when you're looking in the next stages? Looking forward to seeing what else you find.
