Notes:
A printed heading states that those named were members of the 1st Jewish Work Group, 2nd Labor Battalion, present for rations during May 1943. There were 12 Bulgarian supervisory personnel and 207 Jewish forced laborers named on the list. Many had been transferred from the 3rd Jewish Work Group, and these make up a significant proportion of the men actually present. Notations next to the names show that many of the other Jewish laborers were actually in hospital or AWOL, at least for part of the month. The names are handwritten on a pre-printed form.
