Selected records of the Investigation Office of the Capital City of Warsaw
Description:
Contains approximately two thousand personal files of Jews suspected or accused of various crimes (i.e., thieves, crooks, forgers, etc.) compiled by the Investigation Office in Warsaw between 1922 and 1951. Files contain the dossier of a person, information sheet, which includes the following data: name, alias, date and place of birth, place of residence, marital status, parents' names, personal data of spouse, names of children, information about lovers, known associates in criminal activities, occupation, religion, military service, physical description, additional information and remarks for special attention. In addition, files very often contain such documents as police photos of a person, fingerprint card, handwriting sample, information about the previous arrests, court judgments, official correspondence and sundry documents.
