Description:
This source list consists of references to files relevant to the topic of Jewish children in Transnistria. It includes individuals who were deported to Transnistria and who were 18 years old or younger in 1944 when Transnistria was liberated. Most of these files pertain to people born in the 1930`s. The files were submitted to the IOVR between 1948 and 1950, which indicates that these survivors were living in Romania at that time.
The documents are written in Romanian, and a majority of them are handwritten.
The list consists of references to three categories of files: 1) Files of children who lost their parents in Transnistria; 2) Files of parents who lost their children in Transnistria; 3) Files of children who were physically or mentally maimed in Transnistria. Most of the files are submitted by orphans who lost both parents in Transnistria.
