Abstract:
- A collection of prisoner registration cards [i.e. Häftlings-Personal-Karte] of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp that were captured by the Red Army and later brought back to Moscow. The great majority of those listed in these registration cards perished, with only occasional references to the prisoner having been released or having fled [i.e. "geflohen"].
- Some handwritten notations appear to have post-Liberation dates, at least as late as May 27, 1946, which may indicate that the Soviets continued to maintain this registration system after the camp's liberation and even after war's end.
Language and Other Notes:
- Text primarily in German.
- "Roll 10A"--Handwritten cover sheet.
