During May 1943 the 4th Jewish Work Group of the 2nd Labor Battalion was deployed at the village of Vetren and bivouacked at Kulata. The group was augmented by locally recruited (and paid) ethnic Bulgarians, whose names are given here among those of the Jewish forced laborers. Notations in order of date record the reasons why members of the group were not present, e.g., in hospital, gone AWOL, discharged, mobilized elsewhere, or taking examinations.
