I've watched the movies of the Holocaust like: "The Boy in the Blue Pajamas", "Freedom Writers", and "Schindler's List". During my visit in the US Holocaust Memorial Museum, there were many other things I had missed from learning about the Holocaust. They had it hard, and its very heartbreaking to know and see what they have gone through. How terrible it would be if that cause repeats itself.. I don't need any presents for Christmas, I don't buy things I don't need; I'm just thankful I have a home and my family to keep living.

Hate and discrimination no matter how subtle. It's still happening.

I'm doing a project for my senior English class, where we got a person from the Holocaust, this is mine...We are also reading Night by Ellie Wiesel...Such a sad topic to discuss, I'd love to visit the museum eventually.

My father was a former USAFFE, stationed in Visayas, Cebu. Those who were assigned in Luzon were victims of Japanese initiated death march. Few of these prison camps were liberated by the returning Allied forces and many perished on the death march. But what we suffer was just too little as compared to Europe Nazi prison camps.

I read Stolen Years to all of my sixth grade classes. They learned more through Sara's book than through our history books. That was in about 1985 or 86. Sara wrote us back and I still have the letters. Some of my students later visited the Holocaust Museam and wrote letters to me describing their feelings about the Holocaust. I wrote to her again a few years ago and learned that she had passed away.

This was a very dark and heavy thing to talk about. I'm doing a research project on The Holocaust and this really breaks my heart to do this.

I was very lucky to have been born here in the United States in March of 1943. I think if I had been born in Europe, I would have perished.
I have one very close friend who is German by birth and a Zen teacher who is German. Both are wonderful people. I know other Germans who are wonderful.
Yet I have heard that anti-Semitism is on the rise in Germany, Europe, the U.S.A. and other places.
As a Jewish person this disturbs me very much.
I know I try to do whatever I can to show love and compassion toward all of my fellow humans and towards the environment in general.
People must speak out against all the negative hatred and behvior in the world to try and stop it. Can't our species ever learn that hate and violence towards life is not the way?

I read the Diary of Anne Frank a month ago and it was such an inspiring story. I loved hearing how she described everybody and how her family survived. I wish there was another book about Anne Frank. She is a great person to look up to.

My father was in the military in WW2. He was a captain and also a camp liberator. He and his company were assigned to photograph the camps. He brought home many photos of atrocities of war. From Holland to Poland. I am half Jewish. My family lost relatives in the Holocaust, a Rabbi, several cousins and aunts and uncles. Only few survived. My father's photos, army uniform and all of his medals are being donated to Shoah Foundation and US Holocaust Museum. I have many many books on WW2 history and Holocaust. One heartwrenching story that is true is bio by Irene Opdyke "In My Hands- My Story of a Rescuer". This woman lived to tell about the horrors. She recently passed away. We need to hear more from survivors before the voices are forever silenced.

I have come to know a survivor intimately. I feel priviledged to have had this person in my life- a survivor who has used his terrible experience to help others survive. No murderous dictator can snuff out the basic goodness of people like the one I've been blessed to know.
