Rings discovered by Father Patrick Desbois near a mass grave in western Ukraine. US Holocaust Memorial Museum, gift of Father Patrick DesboisM

Join the Chicago Next Generation for a discussion with Father Patrick Desbois, a French Catholic priest who is leading a historic undertaking to uncover the truth behind the murder of Jews during what is known as the “Holocaust by bullets.”

Working closely with Museum scholars, Father Desbois seeks to identify all the locations in eastern Europe where Jews, Roma, and other victims were shot and killed by the Nazis and their collaborators. The artifacts he collects and the video testimonies he records with eyewitnesses—many of whom are speaking publicly about their experiences for the first time—will be preserved forever in the Museum’s collection.

Hors d'oeuvres and cocktails will be served.

For questions or more information, please contact Renee Rotter at 847.433.8099 or rrotter@ushmm.org.
