Join the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum and Echoes & Reflections for a free teacher training that will include exhibition tours, discussions, and resources on how to teach complex topics of Holocaust history and antisemitism.
The program includes:
• Highlights tour of the Permanent Exhibition
• Tour of the new special exhibition, Americans and the Holocaust, which examines the motives, pressures, and fears that shaped Americans’ responses to Nazism, war, and genocide.
• Participants will be given lesson plans to help their students explore questions that the exhibition raises, such as: What did the United States government and the American people know about the threats posed by Nazi Germany, and when?
• Discussion on the effective teaching of contemporary antisemitism.
• Participants will be given resources to help their students explore the persistence and impact of antisemitism worldwide. They will also learn ways to support students’ commitment and ability to actively respond to and prevent antisemitism and other forms of prejudice.
Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
