On the occasion of the Museum’s 25th year, Dr. Edna Friedberg will discuss the institution’s depth, reach, and growing relevance in today's world. Dr. Friedberg, a historian, will connect Holocaust history with social, cultural, and political issues today, such as the new law in Poland criminalizing perceived attacks on Polish history and the rise of white-nationalist and far-right movements. She will discuss the global and domestic rise of extremism and hatred, as well as government responses. Examining these trends through the lens of history, Dr. Friedberg will assess the dangers of the current environment and how to best address them.
