Spring Tour Guide Training Classes
• Study about the Holocaust in Saturday classes
• Graduate to become a Bringing the Lessons Home Student Ambassador
• Learn to serve as a tour guide for the Museum’s Permanent Exhibition
• Earn up to 50 hours of community-service credit
• Become eligible to participate in the Stephen Tyrone Johns Summer Youth Leadership Program
Eligibility
9th through 12th-grade students from Washington, DC-area schools may apply.
Program Dates
Orientation: Saturday, February 15, 2020, 10 a.m.–noon
Classes: Saturdays, February 22–May 30, 2020, 9:30 a.m.–2 p.m.
Induction Ceremony and Family Tours: Saturday, June 6, 2020, 9 a.m.–1 p.m.

Your application should include the following materials:
1. A recent photograph of yourself
2. Letter of recommendation from a teacher, school administrator, past program ambassador, or member of the community
3. Written Essay of approximately 500 words (or more) or a Video Essay approximately 3 - 5 minutes (in length) should answer these questions:
• From the Museum's Permanent Exhibition, The Holocaust, which photograph(s), artifact(s), or video(s) was/were most memorable or important to you and why?
• Why do you think it is important to learn about the Holocaust?
• What do you hope to accomplish as an ambassador in this program?
The video essay should be sent to Kerry Phipps, Program Coordinator by providing a link to a YouTube or Dropbox (kphipps@ushmm.org).
