German Field Marshal Erhard Milch was accused of war crimes and crimes against humanity for subjecting prisoners of war and other prisoners to murder, cruel treatment, forced labor, and involuntary participation in brutal medical experiments (dealing with the effects of high-altitude and freezing). He was found guilty of medical experimentation. Milch was sentenced to life in prison, a sentence later commuted to only 15 years.
