Hello, my name is Ben. I am a relative of the family name Kanter. My grandma who knows a lot about the Holocaust claims that she had many relatives still living in Europe during the Holocaust. She claims that when many came over they changed their name to Kanter. I was wondering if anyone knew what their names were before they came over or who they were. Thank you!

am still looking for my aunt. Her maiden name was Alina (Hinde) Ajke. She was separeted from my father Marek Ajke and grandfather Aaron Josef Ajke at the Majdanek camp. If somebody has any information I would appreciate if can contact me.
My father is Marek Ajke and I was confused with the name of the camp in my first post. As my father was in many, including Mielec, I tought that he was separated there, but it was in Majdanek.
Thanks again
Debora Ajke
