Cummings Foundation Fellowship Ms. Rebecca Carter-Chand
Ms. Carter-Chand is currently a PhD candidate in History at the University of Toronto in Canada. She is researching and writing her dissertation, “Doing Good in Bad Times: The Salvation Army in Nazi Germany.”

She has received a variety of awards and scholarships including a Claims Conference Fellowship, a SSHRC (Social Science and Humanities Research Council of Canada) Doctoral Award and numerous awards from the University of Toronto’s Centre for Jewish Studies and JIGES (Joint Initiative in German and European Studies). She was the 2006 Golgorer Intern at the Center for Advanced Holocaust Studies at the USHMM and was a participant in the 2009 ITS Workshop at the Museum. Her languages include German and French.
