| OVERVIEW OF ORAL HISTORY COLLECTION: | The Institute has approximately 200 audiocassettes of interviews of anti-fascists, people associated with liberation in the province of Como. These were assembled by Giusto Perretta, founder of the institute during the years 1978 -- 1990.
Approximately 100 videocassettes VHS (Master in DV CAM) of interviews of Italian citizens deported and used as slave laborers in Nazi Germany.
The interviews assembled since 2001 in the Como province, Lombardy, and other parts of Italy have been collected by Valter Merazzi, director of the Institute. He is responsible for the Center of Studies "Schiavi di Hitler" (Hitler's Slaves), which is part of the Institute of Contemporary History P.A. Perretta. This project is still in progress.
These interviews are essential to the research on the deportation and forced labor of Italians in Nazi Germany. Only a small part of the interviews have been recorded.
