| GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION: | Since 1999, the Flossenbürg Concentration Camp Memorial Site has been funded by the state of Bavaria. On January 1, 2003, it became part of the Foundation of Bavarian memorial sites, together with the Dachau Memorial Site.
Four researchers are preparing a permanent exhibition on the history of the concentration camp which will open in 2007. Another exhibition on the postwar history of the site is scheduled for 2008. |

| OVERVIEW OF ORAL HISTORY COLLECTION: | They have a small collection of oral history interviews. Most of the material was originially produced by the Haus der Bayerischen Geschichte (House of Bavarian History, Augsburg) that has video-interviewed former prisoners at annual reunions. Thomas Muggenthaler, a journalist, who works for Bavarian Public Radio at Regensburg, has donated a series of CD´s containing radio programs he produced since 1995. Many of them include detailed interviews with former prisoners (between 5 and 50 minutes length).
They are currently prepairing a series of video-interviews with former Czech prisoners in partnership with the Živá pamet orgaization in Prague, Czech Republic. |
