| GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION: | The Jewish Community of New Zealand is a group of volunteers from the Auckland Jewish community who formed a loose organization and since 1993 have sporadically conducted interviews with Holocaust survivors and others. |

| OVERVIEW OF ORAL HISTORY COLLECTION: | Masters are kept by the Jewish Community and are not accessible to the public. Copies of the interviews have been deposited at two places in New Zealand:
1) The Auckland War Memorial Museum (www.aucklandmuseum.com/web/index/cfmand). These are interviews with Holocaust survivors only.
2) The Alexander Turnbull Library (www.natlib.govt.nz) in Wellington (National Oral History Centre). These are interviews with Holocaust survivors as well as some interviews with prominent people in the community -- 69 in total. All interviews are principally with people living in the greater Auckland area. |
