GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION:The Arbeitskreis fuer Heimat-, Denkmal- und Geschichtspflege "Heimatpflege-Verein" (AHDG) is a small association sponsored by the local rural community. The prime aim of this association is dedicated to the research, preservation and promotion of the local heritage of the people in this region.

Most of their work is accomplished by local non-professionals. In addition to collecting oral histories, the AHDG work on the commemoration of the approximately 40,000 Jewish and political prisoner victims from Europe subjected to hard labor between 1940 and 1945 at the Gusen I, II, and II concentration camp complex at Sankt Georgen & Gusen, Austria.
  
OVERVIEW OF ORAL HISTORY COLLECTION:The AHDG collects testimonies to give proof of the existence of the KZ Gusen 1, 2, and 3 concentration camps which were situated in this region, and to provide a basis for research.
