Alexandra Garbarini

Alexandra Garbarini is a Doctoral Candidate in history at the University of California, Los Angeles, and 1999–2000 Fellow at the Center for Advanced Holocaust Studies, United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. Her dissertation “To Bear Witness Where Witness Needs to be Borne: Jewish Diary-Writing and the Holocaust, 1939 to 1945” illuminates different aspects of the daily existence of diary writers through an examination of family, religion, and emotional coping strategies. Her fields of study include modern Europe, Germany, modern Jewish history, and literary theory.
