The second volume in the series, Jewish Responses to Persecution, 1933-1946, covers the period 1938–1940, and takes us from the aftermath of Kristallnacht through the closing of the Warsaw Ghetto. This book explores the flight of Jewish refugees, ghettoization, and mounting violence. It features period photographs and reproductions of original documents with translations and annotation as well as a chronology, glossary, bibliography, and index.

Please join us on Tuesday, October 11, 2011, from 2:00-4:00 PM in the Helena Rubinstein auditorium as editor Dr. Alexandra Garbarini (Williams College) and Museum survivor volunteers will present a reading and discussion of the diaries, letters, and other materials gathered in this volume.
