Days of Remembrance was established by the United States Congress as our nation's annual commemoration of the victims of the Holocaust, just as the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum was established as our permanent living memorial to those victims. This year, Holocaust Remembrance Day is Thursday, April 19. Its theme is Remembering the Past for the Sake of the Future, underscoring that remembrance should also be an act of hope.
