Through the Museum’s First Person program, Holocaust survivors have the opportunity to share their remarkable personal stories of hope, tragedy, and survival with thousands of visitors. Watch recordings of all First Person programs on the Museum’s YouTube channel.

  • Steven Fenves was born on June 6, 1931, in Subotica, Yugoslavia. He survived internment in Auschwitz-Birkenau and Buchenwald before American soldiers liberated him in 1945.

  • Agi (Laszlo) Geva was born on June 2, 1930, in Budapest, Hungary. She survived internment in Auschwitz-Birkenau, the Plaszow concentration camp, and then forced labor in a factory in Calw, Germany. On April 28, 1945, US troops liberated her from a death march.

  • Estelle Laughlin was born in Warsaw, Poland, on July 9, 1929. During the Holocaust she survived the Warsaw ghetto, as well as internment and forced labor at multiple concentration camps, including Majdanek, before being liberated by Soviet forces in January 1945.
