This photograph is of the Ginaite family in Kovno, Lithuania. Sara Ginaite, who donated the photograph to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, is pictured here as a young girl (front row, third from right). It was taken in 1934, just before the emigration of Sara's uncle to Palestine. After the German occupation, Sara was interned in the Kovno ghetto and later fought with the partisans against the Germans.
