JEWISH BADGE FROM FRANCE

The six-pointed star with the word "Jew" in French across the front was used in German-occupied France to identify Jews. Jews in German-occupied France were required to attach these patches to their outer clothing beginning in 1942. Similar badges were used across German-occupied Europe to publicly identify Jews, facilitating their deportation.
