Student Profile: Mendel Wortman

There were no results that came up for Mendel Wortman, but there was one Mende Wortman (I've surmised that this could be a typo and is meant to be Mendel, but this is just a possibility--his name really could be Mende). In addition, his birthdate made him the right age to have attended School #21B.

Of Mende's family members, only his sister Chana (b. 1934) lived at the exact same address he did. I suspect that a similar address (Alexanderhofstrasse 46 11 instead of 46 3) perhaps housed the remainder of the family. I came to this conclusion when addressing Mende's possible mother Chaja Sura, who has two addresses listed: Nalerhof 46 3 (not Alexanderhofstrasse but the same street and falt number, perhaps supposed to be Alexanderhof?) and the other one as Alexhof 46 11. The birthdates in the two profiles for Chaja Sura differ by 1 month and 6 days, but I suspect that not only are they the same person, but that Chaja is Mende's mother--one of her profiles lists the same deportation date as Mende.

The other family members that lived at Alexanderhofstrasse were a possible father (Ezriel, b. 1894) and sister (Perla, b. 1927).

The people listed at Alexanderhofstrasse 46 11, including one of Chaja Sura's profiles, Ezriel, and Perla, do not have deportation information listed for them. Chaja Sura's other profile and Mende's have a deportation date listed as September 10, 1942, on which date there was a deportation to Chelmno. Chana's deportation date is listed as September 10, 1941, but I suspect that is a typo and is meant to say 1942.
