User Comments:
When I did a search for Izak Zylbersztajn I couldn't find any results. So I decided to try a fuzzy search and found a boy named Icchok Ajzyk. I believe he was the best match for the student who signed the name in the album because the names are very similar to Izak.

Icchok Ajzyk Zylbersztajn was born on 12 Dec 1929 and he lived at Hohensteinstrasse 43/45 flat 126 and Basargasse (Bazar) 10 (no flat number) and he was deported in March of 1942 on Transport 28/2.

I looked into Icek Chil Zylbersztajn and I agree he is also a match for the student who signed the album. Icek Chi was born 26 Sep 1930 and he lived at Cranachstrasse 13 flat 14, Sulzfelderstrasse 41 (no flat number) and he also had a date 5/12/42. I'm not sure what this date means.

I aslo found him with the surname Zylberstejn with the same birthdate and the Sulzfelderstrasse 41 flat 24 address. He aslo has Karl Scheibl as an address and I think when you connect the address with his note it because Karl Scheibler 20. So I think his comment means he lived at the Karl address and moved on 23 Nov 1942 to the Cranach address. I couldn't find Karl Scheibler in the drop down menu.

Excellent work. Thank you for listing both of these boys as possible candidates to have signed this name.

As far as the date goes, sometimes these are the date of the record, the date of a change of address, or something else--it often takes a confirming record to let us know what they mean.

User Comments:
When searching for Icchok's family I found the following people living at the same address.

Naftula Hercyk born 28/12/1904 (father)

Bina born 1904 (mother)

Mojzesz born 28/09/1925 (brother)

Henoch born 26/04/1926 (brother)

Ceira born 10/03/1928 (sister)

Dwojra Nchuma born 11/10/1935 (sister)

I also found Abram born 20/01/1915 and died 15/06/1943 living at the same address. Given his birthdate he would have been to young to be anyones father besides Dwojra and he wasn't young enough to be the child of Bina and Naftula so I'm thinking he could be an uncle or cousin to Icchok.

Icchok, Henoch, Ceira, and Dwojra were all deported on 28 March 1942 on TR 28/2 and they would have ended up in Chelmno where they were killed in the Gas Vans. I didn't enter in his date of death because I didn't see anything with his death only deportation date.

Bina, Naftula, and Mojzesz were all deported on 30 March 1942 on TR 31 and they were also sent to Chelmno and killed in the Gas Vans.
