User Comment:

Database shows only 2 females with the last name Apt and first initial S. Of those two candidates only one is age appropriate for school 8a, Stefania Apt. All information for her is what is entered for review. There were no male candidates with S. Apt as far as I found. Address was changed from Hamburgerstrasse to Legionow as taken from research notes, and is reflected in the edits.

There are many different possibilities for what might have happened to Stefania. Have you found anyone with the last name Apt living at the same address you found in stage 1 who might be one of her family members?

User Comment:

Stefania Apt would be 13 years old in 1944, making her eligible for work in the camps though no labor card is in the database. There is also no family info or medical records available in the stage one database. However, given her ancestry as a Polish Jew, and her age she could have been one of 200 workers under 18 sent to labor on Auschwitz farms or sent to Maurershule-bricklaying school which would have placed her either at Melheuer in 1944 or Stutthof with 7000 other female prisoners on transfer from Asuchwitz. Looking to see if either of these scenarios are plausible according to the secondary sources database info. Regarding Samuel Apt- data found in database in stage 4. A Samuel Apt born in 1925 is listed as a Polish jew transfered to Buchenwald in 1945. He would be of a reasonable age to be a sibling but not old enough to be a father. His prisoner number is 120237.

There are many possibilities for what might have happened to Stefania. Have you tried looking for other people with the last name Apt living at the address you found in the first stage, to see if you might have found a family member?
