User Comment:

This is the only L. Tabak that fits listed in Lodz Ghetto Inhabitants.   I've also determined her parents and sister using the same address.

Based on the Lodz Ghetto Inhabitants, the father, Aron Dawid, died 13 December 1941.  Luba, her mother Rywka, and her sister Mala are listed "AUSG TR 7/2", meaning they were all transported together to Chelmno.

I agree with your findings. Thanks for the great work!

I also agree this is the student who signed L. Tabak in the album. In 1941 she would have been 15 years old, the right age to attend school #17b. You can go ahead and enter the information on her family into the appropriate fields in stage 2. Nice work!

Filling in previously mentioned information.

Sadly, the trail seems to end here.   We can assume she, her mother, and her sister all were murdered in Chelmno, based on "AUSG TR 7/2", but there is no further record of any other detail of their particular lives in the ghetto, beyond Luba attending School #17B, and she being a tailor (Lodz Ghetto Inhabitants list her as a "Schuelerin", but I was unable to find her labor card) - however there is no record of her sister Mala attending school or working.   Her mother, Rywka, is listed as a housewife.

Table A, "Table A: Liquidation of Jewish Population in the Lodz Ghetto, 1942-1944" http://kehilalinks.jewishgen.org/Lodz/statistics.htm#Liquidation  whichs references Baranowski, Julian. The Lodz Ghetto, 1940-1944; Lodzkie Getto, 1940-1944; Vademecum. Lodz: Archiwum Panstwowe w Lodzi & Bilbo, 1999 lists 22 February -2 April 1942 as a date range of deportations from Lodz to Chelmno.   Rywka, Mala, and Luba are all listed as "AUSG TR 7/2" so perhaps they were held for two weeks before their transfer?

The father, Aron Dawid, is stated to have died 13 December 1941, according to the Lodz Ghetto Inhabitants list.  However, he is not listed in the Lodz Ghetto Hospital Death Records, and therefore, we can assume the poor man died at home.

Thanks for updating the information on this stage. "Schuelerin" would mean that she was a student, rather than a tailor, so I'm still not sure where you're getting that information from. You can also go ahead and add the date of deportation back in--just in the date field. Excellent work, and thanks for helping to complete Luba's record.
