Gender: boy
School:
School #13B
School #13 was a school for boys in Lodz. The students in #13b attended classes in the afternoon. Most students were between 10 and 15 years old, meaning that they were born between 1926 and 1931.
School #13 was located at Ulica Franciszkańska 29. The street name was changed to Franzstrasse when German occupation began in 1939. You can read more about the schools on Franciszkańska at

User Comment:
After searching both 'Chaim' and 'Tajblam' under fuzzy parameters, I came up with Chaim Fajblum, who was in the right age range to ahve signed the album. In addition, if handwriting is messy it can be easy to confuse Ts and Fs, as well as As and Us.
Approver Comment:
I agree you have found the person who most likely signed this name in the album. In 1941 he would have been 14 years old, the right age to attend school #13b. Please note that this is an "A.M." address, meaning that Chaim lived at this address before and immediately after the creation of the ghetto. Best of luck in the next stages!

User Comment:
I concluded that Tajblam and Fajblum were close enough to be a match--it is often easy to mix up Ts and Fs, as well as As and Us. Nusen (b. 1895) and Perla (b. 1900) were Chaim's parents (they lived at the same Steinmetz address), but Nusen was not deported on the same date as the other members of the family. Instead, his death date is given as July 2, 1941. Chaim, his mother, and his siblings Chana (b. 1923), Rywka (b. 1925), Abram (b. 1929), and Mojsze (b. 1931) were deported on March 1, 1942, during the month of daily deportations to Chelmno.

I agree that you have found Chaim's family. I also agree that deportations in March 1942 went to Chelmno, where those who were deported were murdered. Thank you for adding the additional information to this record, and for helping to complete Chaim's record in the project.
