School addresses and what doe PARIS under ghetto address mean in the Survivor and Victim Catalog?

I have two questions:

1. Can we assume that students that lived closer to the school address were more likely to go to that school? Or was school placement more random, not just based on one's location?

2. I have found a victim (name: Majer Lajb Ickowicz) who has a ghetto address in the Lodz Ghetto, but also has the words PARIS under the ghetto address. What does this mean?
