Abstract:
- Contains alphabetical name registers of those who perished in the Holocaust from the towns of:
- -- Plonsk and surrounding areas, including Sochocin [Yiddish: Sokhotsin] and other nearby towns ("Eleh Azkarah-- rashimat yehudei Plonsk veha-sevivah shenesefu be-Sho'ah", p. 689-716)
- -- Nowe Miasto [Yiddish: Neishtat] ("Rashimat yehudei Neishtat" , p. 717-721
- The above necrologies are followed by a large unalphabetical section of family and other memorials. No portraits are included in these memorials ("Yizkor", p. 723-775).
- Also contains facsimiles of a three page handwritten Yiddish non-alphabetical prewar register of 102 Jewish families from the nearby town of Zakroczym who found themselves in Plonsk, dated (it appears) November 26, 1939 and said presumably have been forwarded to the 'Joint' [i.e. Joint Distribution Committee] in Warsaw ("A liste fun 102 Zakrotshimer mishpokhot vos hobn zikh gefinen in Plonsk (datiert 26.11.30 [sic]), di liste iz vorsheynlikh ibergeshikt gevorn dem 'Dzshoynt' in Varshe", p. 673). [Note: The 1930 date given in original caption seems to be erroneous, with 1939 appearing to be more likely, which would make these documents a register of Jewish families who fled from Zakroczym to Plonsk in the first months of the War, as described in the website "We Remember Jewish Zakroczym!" found at http://www.zchor.org/zakroczym/zakroczym.htm (Last Accessed: May 20, 2010)].
