    Description
    Margaret Siegal Weiss (the donor, age 12) and her father Morris (42) spent six weeks visiting family in Zborow from July to August 1936.

    01:25 Arrival in Zborow during the summer of 1936. Margaret (the donor) stands next to her Aunt Minke Pasternak. Mountains (from plane window?). Village, main square and street on market day. MS, yardgoods store belonging to Margaret's grandmother Sara Pasternak Lifschutz. Uncle Jonas Pasternak (28) stands in front of the doorway. Pan, town and shops. 03:58 Polish monument in Lvov. 04:07 Scenes at a picnic at Zborow's town pond. The donor's cousins Eva (22), Manuel (19), and Max (15) Halpern are shown, as well as Aunt Minnie (19), her older sister Clara, and Uncle Solomon Pasternak (24). Margaret swims with Manuel and Max. Family relaxes, eats, and smokes by the water. 04:46 Grandfather Sigal's house on the main square. Family members standing in front of the house, incl.     Film Provenance
    This film was taken by Morris Siegal in 1936 who was born in Zborow. He had been living in the United States for 23 years and visited his home town with his daughter, Margaret (the donor). Margaret Siegal Weiss donated Part I in 1989. She donated Part II of her father's home movies to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in June 1992. Part II was formerly part of the Museum's Oral History collection as RG-50.186*0001; it was transferred to the Steven Spielberg Film and Video Archive in October 2006.
