Dear Johns Family:

I want to offer my condolences to you and your family, on behalf of my Mom, Julia Greco.

My Mom, Julia, made a contribution to the Johns Family Fund. She received a thank you letter from the Museum which arrived on July 27, 2009. She never saw the thank you letter, as she passed away on that day. In opening her mail, I read it and wanted to share my condolences with you and your family.

WGod Bless all of you,

Geri Greco

I am a 27 year veteran of Law Enforcement, I am the son of two parents who survived humanities darkest moment. I would like to give my deepest condolences to Officer John's family and brother officers assigned to the United States Holocaust Museum. The Holocaust Museum stands as a becon of hope for as long as we remember the forces of evil prevails if we don't learn history by not repeating lessons learned. Here Special Police Officer StevenTyrone John gave of himself the ultimate sacrifice. I never knew you but feel your dedication and love of life, family and community.

Due to my work I have had the priviledge of being able to make several trips to the museum in the past two years. It has always been an exceptional experience and the Officers that work there have been nothing but professional. My deepest sympathy goes out to the family of Officer Johns and his friends and colleagues. Godspeed to all of you and thank you for all that you do.

I am deeply saddened by the thoughtless act committed upon Officer Johns. I have twice visited the Museum in the past two years and have always felt very safe and protected there by officers like Mr. Johns. It is unfortunate that Officer Johns life was taken by the very people that created the Holocaust. My prayers are with his family.

The death of Stephen Johns sadly reminds us the very purpose of the museum he served for six years. He died protecting visitors and staff from the same type of people who made the Holocaust possible.
My condolences to his family, they can be proud of him.

When this happened I cired all day...I still think of this man and what he did along with his family, especially his young son. To think after everything the holocaust has showed us about the tolerance of intolerance that there are still people who think and behave this way. I often question the kind of world I live in but then I think of this man Mr. John's and he represents what is good and right in a world and we desperately need more people like this in it. Mr. John's legacy of courage will live on forever in my mind and the hearts everyone.
