One Righteous Man: The Story of Raoul Wallenberg
By Syd Lieberman

Raoul Wallenberg was a Swedish banker who joined with the United States War Refugee Board in an effort to help European Jews suffering under the Nazi onslaught. He was assigned to a Swedish diplomatic post in Hungary where he participated in one of the most successful rescue efforts during the Holocaust. By issuing protective passports, establishing safe houses, and forging identity papers, Wallenberg helped save hundreds of Jews and encouraged others to save thousands more.

Storyteller Syd Lieberman’s great-aunt Helen was one of the many Jews who were helped by Wallenberg. In this performance, Lieberman will share Wallenberg’s story from the perspective of his own family’s history.
