Biography

Chouchou Namegabe Dubuisson

Chouchou Namegabe Dubuisson is a founding member of the South Kivu Women’s Media Association (AFEM), for whom she has served as coordinator since 2008. Through her work with AFEM and as a journalist, she has advocated for women’s rights and the training of women journalists and has fought against sexual violence. Born in South Kivu, Democratic Republic of the Congo, she joined the staff of Radio Maendeleo as a journalist in 2002, where she used the radio to fight against injustice and the violation of human rights. In 2009, she received the Knight International Journalism Award as well as the Fern Holland Award from Vital Voices Global Partnership for her work combating sexual violence against women through the media.
