Biography

Cindy McCain

Cindy McCain, mother of four and wife of US Senator John McCain, is a member of the board of directors of the Eastern Congo Initiative and an advocate for international charity organizations, championing such issues as global children’s health care needs, landmine removal, and nutrition. Twice in the last two years she has traveled to Eastern Congo to raise awareness of the plight of women and children there. A former member of the board of directors for Operation Smile and the board of trustees for the HALO Trust, she has visited mother and child feeding programs in Cambodia, Sierra Leone, Chad, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo with the World Food Programme. She is chairman of Hensley & Company and holds an undergraduate degree in education and a master’s degree in special education from the University of Southern California.
