Biography

Marvin Kalb

Marvin Kalb is the Edward R. Murrow Professor of Practice, Emeritus at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government and founding director of the university’s Joan Shorenstein Center on the Press, Politics and Public Policy. The last newsman recruited by Edward R. Murrow to join CBS News and a member of the later generation of the “Murrow Boys,” he has led a distinguished journalism career, with 30 years of reporting and commentary, including stints as a bureau chief in Moscow and host of Meet the Press. He is author of 11 books, including The Nixon Memo and Kissinger, and of the forthcoming Haunting Legacy: Vietnam and the American Presidency from Ford to Obama. Host of The Kalb Report, a program about media ethics and responsibility at the National Press Club in Washington, DC, he is also a regular contributor to NPR Radio and television programs.
