When the Goldberg family visited a relative’s home in prewar Amsterdam, young Eva only spoke German. She was delighted to meet two young German girls in the neighborhood with whom she could play. The mementos of that friendship, including photos, letters, and pages in Eva’s autograph, or Poesie book, throw new light on one of Eva’s friends – Anne Frank. We glimpse Anne before she was forced into hiding, when she was just like any other little girl then… or now.
