Legislation:
There is no legislation regarding the teaching of the Holocaust.

MINNESOTA ACADEMIC STANDARDS

Standard Type: History/Social Studies
Date Implemented: 2004
Grade Level: Middle & High School (grades 7-12)
History/Social Studies: Strand: I. U.S. History Sub-strand: A World at War, 1930s-1945 Standard: The student will understand the significant economic, cultural, and geopolitical consequences of World War II. Benchmark 1: Students will understand the religious, social, and political causes of the Holocaust, and analyze its long-term effect on American and international foreign policy (page 37). Strand: II. World History Sub-strand: Global conflict, 1914-1945 (Western Civilization) Standard: The student will demonstrate knowledge of the worldwide impact of World War II. Benchmark 2: Students will understand and analyze impact of the Holocaust and other examples of genocide in the 20th century (page 46).
