Public Act 95-101 An Act Concerning Holocaust Education
Legislation: Bill No. 126, Public Act 95-101, An Act Concerning Holocaust Education states that "The State Board of Education, within available appropriations and utilizing available resource materials, shall assist and encourage local and regional boards of education to include Holocaust education and awareness as part of the program of instruction offered pursuant to subsection (a) of this section." In 1997, the State Department of Education developed a Holocaust Resource Guide.

English/Language Arts: The Holocaust is explicitly addressed in Content Standard 1 for grades 9-12:
Students will apply collaborative skills to elaborate on concepts being addressed and to describe processes used in achieving results. Example: Students meet with their research team to share their findings on the causes of the Holocaust and to describe the process they went through to reach their conclusions.
