A CONVERSATION WITH ANTHONY ACEVEDO
Join us for a conversation with Mexican American World War II veteran Anthony Acevedo. As a medic in the US Army 70th Infantry Division, Tony was among thousands of Americans captured by the Germans at the Battle of the Bulge. While a prisoner of war in Berga, a subcamp of Buchenwald, he kept a diary of the soldiers' experiences there. Now 87, Tony decided to donate his diary to the Museum, saying, "I speak for all of my buddies who were there." Curator Kyra Schuster will interview Tony about the details of this unusual new addition to the Museum's collection.
