In 2005 a woman living in Geneva, Switzerland, discovered a mysterious suitcase in her basement. Inside it were more than 1,000 World War ll-era documents bearing the official seal of the Consulate of El Salvador - each featuring the photograph of a man, woman, or child. Why were decades-old official papers of a Central American nation lying forgotten in a Swiss basement? Join the Museum to learn the remarkable story behind these documents, which relate to one of the largest yet least known rescue attempts of the Holocaust.
