SLOVAK REPUBLIC Commission on Holocaust-Era Property After meeting with the World Jewish Congress and Slovak officials, in February 2001 Deputy Prime Minister Dr. Pal Csaky established a commission on Holocaust-era Jewish property in Slovakia. The Slovak Government approved the establishment of the commission in August 2001. The task of the commission is to create a list of properties confiscated from Jewish citizens, establish a foundation to help maintain Jewish cultural heritage sites, and compensate individuals. Members of the commission include government representatives, Jewish community officials, and representatives of the World Jewish Congress/World Jewish Restitution Organization. Conferences The Slovak Republic participated in the London Conference on Nazi Gold. The Slovak Republic participated in the Washington Conference on Holocaust-Era Assets.
