ROMANIA On June 25, 2002, the Romanian parliament passed a bill providing for the restitution of communal property, excluding places of worship, to the country’s various religious groups. This bill is currently awaiting the president’s signature. Emergency Decision No. 21 of 20 May 1997 This decision, adopted by parliament (Law No. 140 of 1997), stipulates the restitution of property assets previously belonging to the Jewish community in Romania. Decision No. 112 of 1998 This decision refers to restitution of property assets that previously belonged to minority organizations and religious groups in Romania.
