Legislation
On May 30, 2000, the Macedonian Parliament enacted a law mandating that heirless properties of Jewish Holocaust victims be included in a fund for a Holocaust memorial museum honoring Macedonian Jews who perished during the Holocaust. The law provided for the creation of a special Holocaust fund, to be managed by the Macedonian Jews that would inherit the heirless Jewish properties. The law also provided for restitution of the properties of all churches in Macedonia as well as restitution of urban land to their owners.
