Generali, Italy's largest insurance company, has created a Policy Information Center and toll-free access line to provide information on insurance claims for Holocaust survivors and their heirs. Individual claims will be researched at the Generali archives in Italy.

Assicurazioni Generali S.p.A. has created a public trust, the Generali Fund in Memory of Generali Insured in East and Central Europe who Perished in the Holocaust. The fund totals US $12 million, which will be distributed to Central and Eastern European claims beneficiaries and Holocaust survivors.

Generali announced in a June 15, 1998, New York Times advertisement that applications to the fund must be sent, in English, by September 15, 1998, to the following address:
